So I recently binge watched Sex and the City for the first time in chronological order (thank you hboGO), & it got me thinking. Among every friend circle there is a Carrie Bradshaw shoe aficionado, and praise the shoe gods that friend is me. Watching Carrie splurge on $400 Manolo Blahnik strapy sandals spoke to my soul on a deeper level. I empathized with Carrie as she scrambled for justification among her friends for her most recent indulgences. & just like Bradshaw, I could feel the ecstasy a new pair of shoes (or 5) can make you feel when you’ve been down in the dumps.
So as I reorganize the shoe shelves in my closet, I dedicate this post to all the Carries out there who have accumulated half a dozen shoes since the start of the new year.
Pair 1.) Studded Flat
Also better known as a classic Valentino dupe, for only $34 (super scored on sale) these Aldo Zerah Flats were a must have purchase for this season. They are chic yet still have a little edge from the studs, and can totally be dressed up or down making them super versatile.
Pair 2.) Over-the-Knee Boot
This thigh-high flat suede boot is one of my favorite trending looks right now. For $70 I snagged this Unisa pair from DSW (any shoe addicts holy grail). They’re super comfortable and have a lace tie in the back to keep them in place. These boots go with everything from dresses to jeans. Definitely a must this winter.
Pair 3.) Ankle Bootie
Have I mentioned that I love ankle cut boots? These great Sam Edelman booties are a timeless wardrobe staple item. Great year round, comfortable, and available in a bunch of colors and materials. A well built shoe that’s comfortable enough to walk miles in but also super cute.
Pair 4.) Chic Sneaker
Whenever I’m in Paris my attention is always drawn to the number of women wearing New Balance sneakers. They come in a ton of different colors and styles, and are a super chic option for when you’re running around town but don’t want to trade style for comfort. In fact, a lot of name brands (like Urban Outfitters and J Crew) now carry limited edition lines in unique colors!
Pair 5.) Strappy Sandals
While it might not be warm enough (even in California) for sandals just yet, my favorite part of January/ February is that all the spring collections start to come out. These Pertini gladiator sandals are great with the faux crocodile texturing and the pretty neutral pink which is great if you’re like me and tend to shy away from too much color.
Comment and let me know what shoe trends you’re excited about for 2016!
