Hey guys! I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekends. I have to apologize for my absence on social media & here. As some of you may know, I’m preparing for my big move back to Paris which has been taking up a lot of my time [seriously, the French love their paperwork] & I also underwent surgery recently and have been recuperating from that as well. With my hand on the mend and my pre-departure paperwork completed, I’m back & hoping to be blogging and documenting my move to the city of light full time for you all to follow along with me on this crazy journey!
Transitioning into Fall
I’ve been looking forward to September all year. Fall is hands down my favorite time of the year because of two little words: Transitional Style. This autumn is not one to disappoint either. I am loving all of this years trending looks for this transition from Summer into Fall.
Between the denim & leather pieces that become more popular during the Fall, I’m a sucker for all things transitional style. This fall, comfortable & realistic pieces have been taking precedence over more impractical items. As a girl who loves a good denim + trainer combo, I’m dying for the cooler weather to break out my latest wardrobe staples.
One trend that is most certainly here to stay is the loafer. They’re popping up everywhere, from Gucci to Topshop. Transitioning from sandals to shoes can be a bummer, but these super chic loafers make me crave the colder, closed-toe shoed weather. Plus, they’re super comfortable, which is perfect for walking around the city without sacrificing style! A definite win-win.
The pyjamas trend is another one that is here to stay past Summer, and the silk slip dress is one that’s perfect for transitioning into Fall. They’re super easy to layer, which makes them a great transitional trend. You can easily add a simple tee underneath, and then layer on you’re favorite leather jacket to keep warm as the weather cools down.
The sock bootie is 100% having it’s moment to shine this Fall. They are popping up in all different colors and textures which makes them super easy to wear in both warmer months like September and October and transition into cooler November. You can pair these guys with a great midi skirt for warmer afternoons, and then your favorite jeans for cooler evenings.
Many different “grannie” inspired trends are going around for this Fall, including this chic duster coat. The duster is lighter than the average coat, which is perfect for cooler Fall evenings. The floral print in more neutral colors is huge this Fall, and makes for the perfect print to add some color to your ensemble.
Crop Flare Denim
Another trend that has been widely popular throughout both Spring and Summer this year that is perfect for the transition into Fall is the Flare Crop Jean. They’re the perfect addition to the aforementioned sock bootie and your favorite tee for a chic and casual look.
A classic no-brainer has always been the blazer. It’s super versatile for work to drink looks, and with all the different colors & textures that are popping up this Fall of this classic piece, it’s super easy to add a fun statement into your transition wardrobe.
The over-the-knee boot was a widely popular look last Fall and Winter, and it’s back this year in full force to help you transition from your favorite skirts to cooler weather pants. Along with being super chic, they provide added warmth allowing you to continue wearing your favorite skirt into cooler weather.
